Bristol, CT Should Be Destroyed

I am fed up with SportsCenter. In the past ten minutes, I have watched:
- Rick Reilly, doing his gay little Mount Rushmore of Sports bullshit thing, standing in front of a fake mountain with binoculars and a fanny pack. Rick Reilly wasn’t funny when he was at Sports Illustrated, and he’s not funny now. Hey ESPN, great move trading Dan Patrick for him.
- An interview with Mike Krzyzewski. I am so sick of all things Duke. I think ESPN believes the entire world revolves around New York, Boston, L.A., and Cameron Indoor Stadium. I really wish they would wake up and realize that not everyone in this country cares about the Lakers or the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry.
- Stephen A. Smith making up NBA trade rumors. The trading deadline is in like fifteen minutes, and instead of having someone on who may have some inside knowledge of what’s about to go down transaction-wise, they have on the biggest retard in television. After every “rumor” he mentioned, Smith said something to the effect of, “this is pure speculation. I have not — I repeat, I have not — talked to anyone in the NBA about this.” Well, Stephen, I could sit here and say that I think LeBron is going to be traded to the Panathinaikos Basketball Club of the Euroleague, but I would just be making shit up. Does this qualify me to be an ESPN NBA analyst?
I remember when I used to love SportsCenter. Before all the anchors decided to act like they were auditioning for late-night talk show gigs. I can’t take this bullshit anymore. I am now watcing G’s to Gents on MTV. Take that ESPN.
Atlas,
I would first off like to say that I thoroughly enjoy your blog, even in the event that I do not agree with what you say. Now that I have said that, I would like to point out that as much as ESPN has made Rick Reilly look like a wannabe Carson Daily of late, his SI days were pure bliss. I would race home every Thursday just to read that man’s article on the last page.
Everything else in this post I agree with sincerely, but lets cut Mr. Reilly a break and face it ESPN has ruined Rick Reilly, Rick Reilly has not ruined Rick Reilly
In Canada we get SportsCentre, and it’s about 60% hockey coverage, but at least we don’t have to listen to Steven A. Smith that guy sucks big time! He caused a minor stir in Toronto recently with his unsubstantiated claims of Chris Bosh demanding a trade. Your right man, does making up random trades qualify one to be an “analyst” these days? Cause it seems that’s all this clown does.
